and what are their purposes?

Bike to Work (B2W) Indonesia
It has been a big news in this world that  there is a big hole in our ozone layer. And global warming is one of the serious problem that caused by it.
Have you ever imagined, how our world will be in 10 years later? Is it still safe, clean, and comfort to live?
I believe that you doubt about them.
Due to concern for that problems, Once in 2004, some mountain bikers created the community namely Bike to Work Community. They had their first campaign to use bike to work in August 6, 2004. And only in a year, this community got many followers. Not only workers, but also students were interested in it.
August 27, 2005 was declared as the anniversary of  B2W Indonesia community.
From this group, they really hope that they can decrease pollution and greenhouse effect.
So, as their name of community, they campaign to go to work by bike. If it is to hard to do everyday, just do started from the simple thing: ride your bike on Saturday and Sunday.
Bike to Work(B2W) Palembang
Thanks God, Palembang people have a big concern also about the environment.  They make a community namely Bike to Work( B2W) Palembang.
The leader is Mr. Erdyan Oscarino.
If you want to join them, the requirement is easy.
You must have a bike, of course.
Then please see them every Friday night in TAMAN PESIRAH Polda at 7.30 pm and every sunday morning in Kambang Iwak Family Park.

They always have schedule of trip
For example, when i visited on friday night two weeks ago in TAMAN PESIRAH POLDA, they rode their bike to Plaju.
And on friday night a week ago, they rode their bike to Pasar Lemabang.
As information for you, the distance that they take is far enough, more than an hour. But don’t worry, because they are always in a group. The leader leads them. And they always obey the rule of traffic signs.

One more information for you. There are special terms that they use in their group.
1. They call their activity in riding the bike as “GOWES”
The members of this community are called “GOWESER”
2. In here, they greet each other with OM (uncle in English) for man or boy and TANTE (aunt in English) for woman or girl.
